Anyone interested in giving talk about Nix? It would be nice to have some walkthrough through things like custom derivations or building of Haskell projects

I'm not a Nix expert but I'm using it at work and I've spent the last few weeks gaining experience. I would be happy to share what I've learned. But this should be treated more like a dojo-style lecture (where we have a few slides, sample projects I've created and the rest is the conversation with the group). Would that be ok?
Flattered :) Will try to do my best. Would still need few weeks to prepare. If you find someone better on my place, don't hesitate to run it with me. I'm doing that research nevertheless so it will be not a wasted time :)

Didn't know you were lurking here Domen :-) I'm curious about haskell.nix as well - and perhaps during this chat, or some other video chat, you could talk about cachix ?
@Domen Kožar how about pairing up? I could do like a intro to nix + haskell on nix (with some rants and complaints on my side) and you could do followup with "and this is how we fixed that in IOHK" :) !!

This would be very interesting
Indeed
I'll send an email or two and see I can find someone to present this.

I'll attend this. I liked your polysemy talk, @Pawel Szulc !
@Pawel Szulc your talks are awesome! Thanks for offering to showcase your experience with Nix!

I also offered help (via reddit) and had https://github.com/input-output-hk/haskell.nix in mind to show how it works. Maybe we could pair up?

You really really want @Domen Kožar to this talk :)

Sounds good to me, we have to make clear those are different approaches and different trade-offs.
btw we are using IOHK approach at work :)
@Pawel Szulc @TheMatten this Saturday?
Personally I may not be able to join this weekend - but if you or other people want though, go for it :slight_smile:
Same :frown:
I can't join as well this weekend. Maybe one after that?
