The reason it is interesting is because of its "two dimensional" navigation ... compared to the typical stackable notes interface which is really navigating along "one dimension" (horizontal).
Cool idea! It's a bit confusing to navigate through at first and it feels like there's too much to read through all at once. I think it might help if it was more clear which note belonged to which heading? (I guess I still like to think of them as note cards) And maybe fade the unfocused notes more?

Imagine clicking on a z query list, and it shows you the 'sibling' notes in vertical dimension, while the click trail is left in horizontal dimension.
