I'm still figuring out Zulip, and at risk of being very negative, I have to say this is literally the worst UI i've ever engaged :P

I definitely felt the same for a solid half hour when I first started using it. It's nice once it clicks, though
Conversation grouping is the killer feature. Checkout #Haskell for examples. Once you are used to it, the likes of Slack will feel regressive.
We'll have to see. If it's not done right, conversation grouping can divide the discussion and people struggle to join in
