Neuron needs a moto. Something like "_Your_ notes, for _life_". The idea is to emphasize two things that distinguishes neuron from other systems:
Notes are, ultimately, stored on _your_ system (be it local computer, or a remote Git repository)
Notes are available for the _entirety of your lifetime_. Even if the author of neuron (me), or the upcoming web app, vanishes into thin air - your notes will remain alive in non-proprietary format (plain-text), and somebody will take over the mainternership of the open source app neuron so you can continue to use it.
I wonder if I should also create a GitHub organization to capture this philosophy (see example). Wonder what a good name for that would be ...
The target is a community building together shared knowledge, right? I like the image of tending to a garden in that context, does that ring true to you?
The goal/theme is two-fold:
a) Plain-text notes, stored in your own disk (or git repo) without proprietary app format.
b) Replaces Community wikis (the web app would especially be useful here; which I plan to make free for open source communities), and integrates with Git for revisioning and branching work)
FWIW I gave up on renaming before, because I'm not totally convinced that we have to rename the project. The bear app doesn't have a googleable name either, but it seems to do well in regards to mindshare.

Does it make sense to make an organization when there's only one repo?
Related question: are there other projects you would like to group in the same organization? That might guide naming
Neuron: Take note of your mind
FYI I've heard the term "digital garden" (https://github.com/MaggieAppleton/digital-gardeners) to refer to the kind of collection of notes we do
While we're at it we might want to change neuron's name to be more googlable
I tried to rename it before https://funprog.zulipchat.com/#narrow/stream/231929-Neuron/topic/Renaming.20the.20project/near/193892781 ... got any naming ideas?
Would also need a name for the to-be-announced webapp (alas the current name for that is equally ungoogleable)
Hmm, how about some random mythological name or something?
The name "dhall" came from a character in a video game for example

That feels a bit too soft maybe

Doesn't seem problematic to me. Let's generate all sorts of names ... and then pick what sounds best.
