Configuration persistence - I want to be able to trust my OS that it won't change my configuration randomly because of some random decisions of company that develops it, and I want to be able to easily restore it on new/reset devices
(BTW. doesn't really matter too much, but I guess this question would better fit in #Random )
I’d love a more ubiquitous way of hyperlinking between and within different documents at an operating system level. I’m thinking xanadu-style, but possibly going even further to represent bidirectional hyperlinks throughout the whole system.
This could lead to not needing a traditional hierarchical file system, as one could be represented through a first-order hyperlinked system, forming a web of content rather than a tree.
What features do you want in your operating system?
